Team Spotlight - Suzie Slingsby
We sat down with our Head of Sales & Relationships, Suzie, for our very first Zepto Team Spotlight feature.
What brought you to Zepto?
I had been following Zepto (when it was still known as Split Payments) for a while on LinkedIn and was intrigued that such a progressive, innovative Fintech was based in Byron. I had been doing some board work and enjoying some family time but once I met the founders and understood their vision, I couldn't put my hand up fast enough to join the crew!
Where are you based?
Out of our amazing Byron Bay HQ.
Tell us about your role at Zepto
Currently my role is responsible for new customer acquisition as well as customer retention and ongoing relationship management for the greater Zepto business. My fabulous team and I have the pleasure of working with a really diverse customer base to make their payments pain points disappear and provide them with a payment innovation roadmap.
What does a day-in-the-life at Zepto look like for you?
Well suffice to say, there isn't a 'typical' day at Zepto per se. Most days will feature numerous customer interactions, workshopping to tailor solutions for them, supporting my team, working with our onboarding, marketing, legal and compliance teams and whatever else needs to be done to make sure that our team delivers what we say we will. It's extremely fast paced but the energy level is high and getting to work with such an amazing group of human beings is the icing on the cake. There's no time to get bored and no two days are the same!
What excites you about the future of Zepto? (or Fintech)
The opportunities are limitless. We're in unchartered territory in regards to leveraging embedded finance solutions to meet consumer demand and at Zepto, we're in the drivers seat. What we have built, and what our business continues to deliver to our merchants is best in class payment innovation that provides seamless payment solutions for our customer base. I can't wait for PayTo to hit the Australian market and when you overlay open banking capabilities, it's powerful stuff! And then there is DeFi... the Zeptoverse is the limit!
If you had one superpower, what would it be?
Hmmm, I think I'll take the ability to read minds. It might save me a considerable amount of time!
