AWARDS & RECOGNITION

Success at the 2022 Northern Rivers Regional Business Awards

We are extremely proud of our regional New South Wales origins, and couldn't be more delighted to have been recognised at the 2022 Northern Rivers Regional Business Awards.

The Northern Rivers of New South Wales is underpinned by a regional economy with strong industries such as tourism, health, manufacturing, education and an emerging tech landscape. Each year, the Northern Rivers Regional Business Awards recognise and celebrate business excellence, and we were delighted to be shortlisted in two categories:

  • Outstanding Business Leader: Zepto CEO, Chris Jewell
  • Excellence in Innovation: Zepto

.

We are delighted to say that Chris Jewell was named the Highly Commended runner-up, and Zepto collected the Excellence in Innovation award. As a winner, we are off to compete at the State Awards in November.

"As a proud Northern Rivers business, we are inspired every day by the other incredible businesses, big and small, punching well above their weight in all kinds of industry sectors. Around us in the Byron Bay industrial estate - perhaps an unlikely place for a world class technology company to be headquartered - are businesses that are making an impact locally, nationally and even internationally. We really love being part of this creative, energised, thriving community."

CHRIS JEWELL

Hosted at the impressive Lismore campus of the program's primary regional sponsor Southern Cross University, the awards gala was a red carpet affair brought to life by local suppliers, entertainers and more than 120 worthy finalists across 14 categories.

Acknowledging Zepto's success, Jane Laverty, Regional Director Business NSW said, “Huge congratulations to Zepto. Theirs is an amazing rise to success exemplifying the spirit of the Northern Rivers with their innovative mindset and courage to drive solutions that make a difference.

“Chris Jewell is a highly respected local leader who is always generous with his time to support other entrepreneurs in the region and share his strategic approach to business. It’s been a transformative year for Zepto under Chris’s leadership and one that can only happen with a visionary outlook and a team ready to get in behind that leadership to pursue the dream. I wish the Zepto team every success at the State Awards later this year."

JANE LAVERTY

We are extremely grateful to Jane Laverty for her support and encouragement to enter the awards, and acknowledge the work she does showcasing the region’s capabilities, as well as maximising outcomes and the potential of businesses in the Northern Rivers - a community we couldn't be prouder to be part of.

"As is often the case with awards programs, whilst it's exciting to win, the process of working on the submission is an incredible opportunity to reflect on the goals, strategies, successes and setbacks that shape your business journey. Win or lose, awards submissions are really rewarding," said Zepto’s Marketing Manager, Ben Alcock.

Congratulations to The Casino Food Co-op who was named Business of the Year for 2022.
